Space of game - space of aging: ludic sociability in the Sociedade Esportiva Recanto da Alegria

Abstract

Using ethnography, we seek to understand aspects of the way that the members of the Sociedade Esportiva Recanto da Alegria (Soeral) live the aging, having the game as a catalyzer of the group. After an analysis of the results of the context studied, it was considered differently of pessimist positions about aging - that this stage of existence is very rich in that context, that showed itself as a space of ludic sociability, loaded with meanings and a strong feeling of belonging. Defying the lack of interest of the social sciences in the game and other non serious aspects of life, this study brings an alternative to think this social practice, seeking to understand it from the meanings that are attributed to it.
