Physical education in check: body practices, expression and art

Abstract


The considerations made in this article are supported by the studies of Huizinga (1938) and Caillois (1958). Game (ludus) can be defined as basis for human expressivity. Game is completly wrapped in historical materiality which permeates diferent fields from science to art, from nature to culture. This leads to refletions on the relation, stablished by the various dimensions of game, among art, body practices and physical education.
