Top performance: issues in developing sports skills

Abstract

Attempts to identify and select young players aiming at achieving top performance in current and future generations, in different sports, have become a concern and a goal for all those involved in developing sport skills. It is therefore the aim of the present paper to point out some limitations to the development of those skills in young athletes as well as to suggest some possibilities to overcome these limitations.
